We are trying not to be lonely

I see these smiling faces and I say hi!!
To the unknown faces I try and give a smile,
In the mail box a seek a stranger’s mail,
Every smile that I get lights up many a miles.

I was a loner till I saw my friends in bliss,
No way, to this pleasure will I give a miss,
But then again, are there more souls out there,
More souls like me, waking up to this bliss..

All of us are looking out for this bliss I say
We will go an extra mile to make this bliss stay,
Looking out for that perfect soul mate to hit the spot,
For this bliss, every night we pray.

Am I trying to get friendly with strangers only?
Are we desperate to make this world homely?
I would not judge us by this urge of late..
At the end of the day..we are all trying not to be lonely..

The movie “Lucky You” was the inspiration for this poem. Eric Bana has given life to a character which i can easily identify with

    Hmm, so i finally get a comment from you. I agree with what you say partly. Nobody wants to be lonely, sometimes loneliness is just a circumstance thrown at your face without any warning.
    we struggle to get rid of it, and someimes we just enjoy it. Then again, a wandering mind could be a reason for loneliness.

    According to me that will be “Quality time spent within us”. Lovely time… :) isn’t it??

    But we are missing this time day by day. Life is becoming more like a rushing train, which just stops for a while and then keep moving, unaffected by anyone or anything. :(

    have you ever been lonely because of your ego? having distanced yourself from people who bruised your ego.. think of them as people who were close to you… and you have an example wherein you have used loneliness to get back at these people who might have hurt you in some way..

    so in such cases, loneliness becomes enjoyable… twisted sort of logic, right? :)
